The field of Artificial Intelligence is not a black box so much as it is a box filled with our fears, hopes, expectations and many more unexpected feelings. What I have discovered through a process of interviewing people and during trip to Silicon Valley, is that AI reveals our underlying tendency to bridge semantic gaps and fill in what we don’t understand with mystic beliefs, powers and deep-rooted metaphorical links, and to equate AI’s operations to inexplicable magic.
