Filmstill "Heute nicht raus", Marius Schwingel

After two digital festivals, the SWR Doku Festival will once again take place on location in Stuttgart. The Merz Akademie presents four documentaries by students and graduates. The films can be seen in the program “Newcomer und Grenzgänger:innen” on Friday, June 24, 2022 from 12:30 at the Innenstadtkino Cinema.

“Of Puppets and Vehicles” by Marius Schwingel gives an insight into the world of the puppet theater players from Stuttgart. With his music video for Yum Yum Club, “Heute nicht raus”, Marius Schwingel has already won the Landesmusikvideopreis Baden-Württemberg. In the video, he accompanies the city cleaner Ivenko at night on Stuttgart’s Königstraße (starting at 12:30). “The Obstacle called Love” by Raphaela Weihpratizky deals with the various forms and obstacles of love (14:30). Claudio Brauchle’s film “90 Meter” delves into the world of activists who oppose the planned clearing of a forest area by occupying trees (15:30).

The filmmakers will be present.
