Maria Mohr studied architecture and experimental media design. Her documentary films are research, journeys and reconstructions of biographies of people for whom this world, as it appears to be, is not enough. There are always transitions to her own biography, which Maria Mohr does not avoid in her films. Maria Mohr has received several scholarships from the Akademie der Künste and her films have been shown and awarded internationally. Maria Mohr has been Professor of Film & Video at the Merz Akademie since 2023.
