Eva Könnemann during her lecture “Observation influences reality”
Observation influences reality (en/de)
Eva Könnemann’s films work with settings and premises that set events in motion with an uncertain outcome, which are captured by the camera and assembled into narratives.
Eva Könnemann studied at the Filmakademie Ludwigsburg and lives as a freelance filmmaker in Berlin. Her work has received numerous awards, most recently her film “That’s All from Me” at the Berlinale 2024 and at the festivals in Hamburg and Oberhausen. Eva Könnemann’s films are experimental in the strictest sense of the word: she often constructs a setting or a cinematic starting point that establishes a reality in which an irritation or disturbance is built in from the outset and whose development is observed and registered not only by the director and the audience, but also by the film itself.
Prof. Peter Ott introduces Eva Könnemann, speaker of the lecture series “Realism: The Great Promise of Cinema”.
