Whether at design conferences, in member lists of design associations and competition juries or in our heads – the image of a successful designer personality is still strongly influenced by a very specific type: white, male, middle-aged.
That bores us! We want more female role models in graphic design, a more diverse design scene – beyond male heroes. What moves you? What makes you angry? How can you change something? What solutions are possible? Who do you have to address?
In the workshop we will name and discuss inequalities in the design scene. Alone or in groups you will explore different aspects within this complex of issues and will use your own resources to look for solutions. Strategies can be developed for a smaller framework such as your university, but you can also address your message to the design public.
We will work together to explore ways in which your messages can be creatively translated and made visible. In doing so, we want to limit ourselves above all to analogous implementations.
