Three decades ago, on the 22nd of April 1993, NCSA Mosaic browser version 1.0 was released. It was not the first ever browser and not one of those that became really popular. But it was the first cross platform browser. It meant that what ever you used: Unix, Windows, Mac — you could connect via HTTP, you could now make your pages and link to pages of others.The web revolution started in 1993, the web design was born with Mosaic. NCSA Mosaic defined the interactions a that were picked up by more successful browsers later.
Join net artist and web archivist Olia Lialina, her students (actual and former) to celebrate 30 years of the WWW as we know it and pay tribute to the first web users, web masters, web desiners.
