First semester project – Poetics of information overload
The students deal with the phenomenon of information overload – a topic which, ironically, is itself accompanied by a flood of information. In their artistic and creative works, they reflect, adapt and comment on technological and social developments. For the slideshow and the accompanying publication Skulpturale Gebrauchsgedichte (Sculptural Utility Poems), utility texts from private browser histories were translated into sculptural text and video works. The artist book Twelve Cuts combines autobiographical texts with images from books in the Akademie library. Too Much Information shows individual artistic approaches and research in the form of table and showcase exhibitions, which resulted in a joint publication.
