I don’t want to look like the rest of the city
A photographic documentation of alternative youth cultures in Stuttgart. Since Stuttgart is known as a place that seems rather conservative, it is interesting to see how different subcultures claim their space. Many of these young people see themselves as “alternatives” – a stance they consciously adopt as a counterpoint to mainstream society. The focus of this work is on portraying the young individuals and how they express their identity and inner attitude through their clothing, hairstyles, and jewelry. The creation of the portraits is significantly influenced by random and spontaneous encounters in the city.
