Animation has become a very important skill, especially as a practical filmmaking solution during COVID-19. Animated videos, short films and music videos have become increasingly popular in the past year. In this class, the students learned different techniques to animate found images from the mass media. They also learned the basics of sound design, how to add another layer to their original works and gained a deep understanding between the relationship between sound and animated images.
Students works are rotoscope and papercut animations.
Rotoscope means to choose and edit found footages, then retracing each frames with drawings or different materials. Papercut animation means to collect found images, and cut them into components, then animate them in creative ways
