Membership in Cumulus strengthens the internationalization of the Merz Akademie

17.06.2020

At this year’s general meeting of the Cumulus Association, the international network of design universities, the Merz Akademie was accepted as a member.

Although via video conference instead of at the annual European meeting in Rome as planned, it was an impressive experience to be able to present the achievements of our university together with new member universities from Japan, Malaysia, Russia, the USA, Uganda, Italy, Portugal and many other countries and to be accepted into the network,

says pro-rector Maren Schmohl after the successful presentation.

We will use this membership to expand our worldwide network of partner universities with the aim of further improving the good opportunities for international contact and exchange for students, faculty and staff.

Despite corona restrictions, 5 exchange students are currently studying at the Merz Akademie and some Merz Akademie students are spending the summer semester 2020 abroad. As usual, more than 15 guest lecturers from all over the world will participate in teaching, virtually this semester. For the winter semester there are already higher numbers of applicants from partner universities.
