ADC Bronze Nail for Xander Heller

Graduate Xander Heller wins a bronze ADC Nagel 2024 for his bachelor thesis “Latent Spaces” at the Merz Akademie – congratulations! Xander’s thesis deals with experimental typography from the cultivation of a blob, also known as a slime mold.

I wanted to combine my bachelor’s project with my thesis, in which I dealt with artificially generated images, among other things. After all the “dry” AI theory, I decided to make it my mission to find analog processes that would enable me to generate writing.

Every year, the ADC competition honors the most creative work in the German-speaking world. For over fifty years, the ADC jury has honored communication and design achievements with the bronze, silver and gold ADC nails as well as the ADC Grands Prix.
