On the Bachelor’s degree in Design, Art and Media, students can combine the three study areas of Film and Video, New Media and Visual Communication, or concentrate on one area, for example, photography.
The Merz Akademie’s small class sizes allow students to interact closely with teaching staff, who can provide individual support. Students gain a good insight into professional life during an internship semester.

The Master of Arts program is aimed at (media) artists, designers (graphic design, interface design), illustrators and comic artists, photographers, influencers, etc., but also at Bachelor’s graduates in the humanities and STEM subjects who are interested in artistic research with an academic perspective and who have a fundamentally critical and media-reflective attitude.
Under constructive-critical supervision and guidance, you can realise a two-year cross-media project in the fields of film, art and media art, photography, graphic design, illustration, interface design, VR/AR, etc., combining artistic research with social activism.
