Study Research in Design, Art and Media (M.A.)

Requirements

Applicants need a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (e.g. Diplom) with 210 or 180 ECTS credits from an artistic/design, humanities/cultural studies or natural sciences (e.g. computer science) program.

Applicants whose Bachelor’s degree has 180 ECTS credits must complete 30 credits in the form of additional study-relevant coursework as part of a preliminary semester in order to complete the Master’s degree with 300 ECTS credits. In this case, the duration of the study program is 4 semesters.

Applicants whose first degree is based on a different credit system can apply for both options and will be admitted to one of the two options after assessment by the admissions committee.

At the time of application, all applicants should be able to demonstrate at least English level B2.

Funding

The tuition fees for the Master’s degree course are currently 549 euros per month.

The semester fee for the Studierendenwerk Stuttgart and the VVS StudiTicket will be 96.50 euros from the winter semester 2024/25. The StudiTicket will be discontinued beginning with the winter semester 2023/24. The reason for the discontinuation is the new offers for local public transport.
