How are emerging technologies changing the way we think, work, and live together? Do recent AI advances mark a fundamental shift, and if so, how should we respond? How do we integrate into existing systems while building the future we envision? In Experimental World Building, we focus on creating systems, models, and prototypes that reflect, critique, and improve our world. Projects can be based in animation, graphic design, VR, AR, UX/UI design, and post-production techniques, experimenting with motion capture, image recognition, geo-localization, and 3D modeling. CI guides, scrollytelling, kinetic typography, data visualization, and AI’s impact on society could all be relevant topics…
World Building can imply many different things. It can be understood with respect to specific media or processes used, but it can also be understood as the construction of fictional or semi-fictional reality. In a commercial context, world building includes design elements like architecture, environmental design, and corporate identity, all of which construct specific realities.
